About
Vintage Hockey Minimize

World Vintage Hockey designs, develops, promotes, stages and manages international hockey carnivals, events and tours.
The World Vintage Hockey Carnival will run for one week with 3 days  of games at local sports fields. They will be played on alternate days, with rest days in between focused on local tours, shopping or simply relaxing on beautiful beaches or enjoying the company of friends. Games will be of 1 hour duration with a 10 minute break at halftime (25 minute halves).

Each team will field 11 players and substitutions can be made at any time.

The Carnival is for hockey players over the age of 35 who wish to continue their playing careers in exotic hockey destinations. Hockey players of all agility and abilities are welcome to enjoy competitive hockey and great fun on and off the field.

Teams who have qualified umpires in their group will be invited to nominate them to control games during the Carnival.

Vintage Hockey is designed for men’s teams, women’s teams and mixed teams. Teams are asked to advise their group as one of the following:
Mens Womens Mixed

To advise what category they would like to participate in:
Social Semi-competitive Competitive

And to advise their approximate average age as one of the following:
Around 35-45 45 & over Mixed

Every effort is made to grade teams according to their selected playing category and approximate average ages.

The FIH Laws of Hockey will apply with variations to suit the age and ability of participating teams. Vintage Hockey rules will differ little from the FIH rules and any variations to rules will be advised prior to any Vintage Hockey Carnivals or matches. Teams, of course, may vary the rules prior to a game by mutual agreement between the team captains but can only be varied in order to promote and preserve the Vintage Sports code - good fun, good competition and the full participation of all those who wish to play.

All games are expected to be played in a sportsmanlike manner in keeping with the objectives of Vintage Hockey:
  • To provide good quality hockey in friendly surroundings at a wonderful destination.
  • To enjoy fun, friendship, good competition and camaraderie on and off the field.
In summary the Carnival can be the ultimate experience for an avid mature hockey player who, whilst never reaching representative status, can now 'compete' against and relax in the company of similar aged hockey people from all over the world in amazing international locations.
